Paul Speiser – baritone, choral conductor, and music educator — is on the music faculty at NYU Steinhardt, where he also serves as the Director of Vocal Music Education Studies, Coordinator of Choral Activities, and Coordinator of Music Education Student Teaching and Licensure. In addition, Dr. Speiser maintains a studio in the Program in Vocal Performance and conducts two choirs.

He has been a member of the Carmel Bach Festival Chorale since 2007. He appears on Luminous Voices’ recording of Artem Vedel’s sacred Ukrainian choral concertos, released in 2021. As an ensemble singer he has performed with Fuma Sacra, Kinnara Ensemble, Spoleto Festival USA, and Lincoln Center Festival. Favorite solo performances include Pandolfe in Massenet’s Cendrillon, Don Alfonso in Mozart’s Così fan tutte, Schlendrian in J.S. Bach’s Coffee Cantata, Sam in Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti, William in Phillip Glass’s The Fall of the House of Usher, and Aeneas in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas.

Dr. Speiser holds degrees from Lawrence University (B.M.), Westminster Choir College (M.M.), and NYU (Ph.D.).
