In the Stacks is a free community concert series bringing the beauty of live classical music into libraries throughout Monterey. Featuring intimate performances by wind and string ensembles, these concerts offer a unique opportunity to experience world-class music up close in a relaxed setting.   • Ginger Kroft
    Ginger Kroft
    Principal Clarinet

    Ginger Kroft is a faculty member at San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Santa Clara University. She is Principal Clarinet of Sacramento Philharmonic and the Carmel Bach Festival, and is a member of the Oakland Symphony. Ms. Kroft regularly performed with the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra for many seasons. In the chamber world, Ms. Kroft was in-residence with Left Coast Chamber Ensemble at the Wunsch New Music Festival.

    She is a Vandoren International Artist and performs on M15 mouthpieces and Traditional reeds. An education advocate, Ms. Kroft maintains a private teaching studio, ClarinetStudio.org, and is a frequent adjudicator of solo competitions. Ms. Kroft holds degrees from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Northwestern University.

  • Robin Carlson Peery
    Robin Carlson Peery
    Principal Flute

    Robin has appeared on stage at the Carmel Bach Festival since 1992. Robin performs regularly in the Seattle area with the Seattle Symphony, Seattle Opera, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Paramount Theater, and also frequently records with numerous Seattle ensembles for movies and television. Robin earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music from The Juilliard School, where she was a student of Julius Baker.,

    Throughout her career, Robin has been a featured soloist with many orchestras, including the Carmel Bach Festival, Memphis Symphony, the Evansville Philharmonic and Philharmonia Northwest. She has been invited to appear with the Vancouver Symphony as guest principal flute along with several guest appearances with the Detroit Symphony. Recent season highlights include recital appearances with Music Northwest.

  • Georgeanne Banker
    Georgeanne Banker
    Bassoon

    Georgeanne Banker is a bassoonist who loves to explore the many iterations of this wondrous, reedy instrument. She is a co-founder and frequent artistic leader of the San Francisco-based orchestra One Found Sound, and appears this season with ensembles including Tafelmusik, Piffaro⁠—The Renaissance Band, Monterey Symphony, and Portland Baroque Orchestra.

    She spends her time between the East and West Coasts and has enjoyed performances with groups such as Les Arts Florissants, Santa Rosa Symphony, La Speranza, and Mercury Chamber Orchestra. On hi-fi she can be heard on the albums of several indie bands and the soundtrack of the Oscar-nominated animated short The Dam Keeper.

    Always eager to share the love of her craft, Georgeanne’s pre-concert talks were hailed as “funny and engaging” by the San Francisco Classical Voice. Her writing has appeared in Playbill and she is a regular contributor of program notes for The Juilliard School. She enjoys teaching historical and modern bassoons and leading workshops that energize creative entrepreneurship. When she’s not making reeds, she’s happy to chat about running, veggie recipes, dogs, and video games. Georgeanne holds degrees from The Juilliard School, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and McGill University.
