Caroling with the Carmel Bach Festival Chorus

December 18, 2022

Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA — Rudolf dropped off Santa a few days early in Carmel-by-the-Sea to make sure last minute wishes got back to the hardworking elves at the North Pole – and he brought a special treat.

The cheer was infectious this afternoon as the Carmel Bach Festival Chorus lit up Ocean Avenue with sounds of the season. The family-friendly event gave the town a joyful lift as shoppers were invited to spend their last Sunday before Christmas singing favorites including Deck the Halls and Frosty the Snowman. Songbooks were passed out to those who joined the Chorus.

One of the oldest music festivals in the United States, each July some of the greatest musicians from around the world gather to perform creations by J.S Bach and other notable composers in a joyful explosion of music.

As the Festival looks forward to their 86th season with new Artistic Director and Principal Conductor, Grete Pedersen, the spirit that has run through the fiber of the Festival since its founding in 1935 is vibrant as ever.
